Michael Griffin has been immersed in the art world throughout his life. As a child, he met the Group of Seven Canadian painter W.P Weston and attended the Vancouver School of Art. As a student at the University of British Columbia, Michael studied pre-architecture, design, art history and English, later completing an honors BFA degree in painting (University of Victoria). He also has an MA in English (Simon Fraser University)and taught for many years in the English department at Okanagan University College. He is a founding member and past director of the Okanagan Artists Alternative, a founding member and past director of the Rotary Centre for the Arts (Kelowna BC) and is on the board of the Kelowna Art Gallery. His paintings and drawings are in collections throughout Canada and Europe.
